dc.description.abstractThe energy sector has traditionally relied upon large-scale centralized facilities, owned and operated by big investors, municipalities, or state-owned businesses. The local energy community concept emerged to challenge the dominant operating logic of the industry. These new types of collective energy-related initiatives are increasingly starting to own and operate energy systems for self-consumption, as well as to supply energy to the grid.-
