This study investigates three emerging innovation ecosystems and their Digital Twins: (1) the Data Center business innovation ecosystem, (2) the Battery Factory innovation ecosystem, and (3) the Greenhouse farming innovation ecosystem, together with Digital Twin (DT) energy industry solutions, aiming to identify technological potential, pathways for ecosystem/cluster growth and development, and policy implications. A systematic review of DT applications was conducted across conventional and renewable energy production, storage, and multi-energy systems. Both conventional and less conventional energy DTs were identified and reported. The three innovation business ecosystems were conceptualized and defined as summary tables integrating technological, organizational, and market dimensions. The study analyses how DT solutions can be mobilized to foster competitive new innovative industrial cluster business ecosystems and evaluates the associated strategic policy measures.
