Humane autonomous technology—re-thinking experience with and in intelligent systems invites the reader to engage in a range of issues that span across sectors and disciplines. Ultimately, the core issue of artificial intelligence (AI) is a cultural one. Yet, we see that cultural underpinnings stemming from the heart of AI, bleed through to all areas of society. This introduction gives a brief oversight on the concept of humane, while explaining current issues pertaining to ethics in AI and how these relate to the present book. The introduction presents the featured contributions that range from labour, service and industry, to creativity, design and visual art.en
