| dc.description.abstract | Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the issue of operation strategy in mining industry to ascertain the kind of operational strategies that the case company utilized to design its operations in a vibrant, situational and complex conditions, under the economic turbulent business environment. Methodology: This research methods utilized case study and survey which are linked by Sense and Respond (S&R) and Manufacturing Strategy Index (MSI) to enhancing the operational competitiveness to detecting weak points and critical elements in the case company productions process and resource allocation. The MSI identifies the superior strategy type and develops the scopes of significance among quality, cost, time and flexibility. Whiles the Sense and respond method evaluate dynamic business strategy of MSI and resources allocations. Findings: The SCA calculated results indicate that, the case company operates as an Analyzer strategy type. Whiles MSI results indicate that the past and future orientations priority is quality, cost, time, flexibility, and Cost, Quality, flexibility and time respectively. Therefore, the achieved results indicate that the case company MAPE, RMSE and MAD values are close to one, which does not indicate high-risk probability. | |
