dc.description.abstract | The group of IEEE 802.11e is enhancing the protocols of MAC layer to differentiate different types of traffics like background, best effort, video and voice. One of such enhancements is Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA). The main characteristic of such enhancement is to support and prioritized quality of service (QoS). Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) is evaluated under different scenarios in which Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) and Distributed Coordination Function (DCF) both exists to evaluate Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) and Distributed Coordination Function (DCF). The parameters chosen are delay and throughput in this thesis. Service differentiation parameters like Voice, Video, Best effort and Background is discussed on the basis of Arbitrary Inter Frame Space (AIFS), Contention Window minimum (CWmin) and Contention Windows maximum (CWmax), and by accounting these values simulation is being performed. The quality of Service (QoS) and non-Quality of Service (nQoS) station is considered for the results taken from average throughput and individual throughput. | |
