This thesis explores the strategic management practices driving environmental sustainability within the context of international business, with a specific focus on Amazon India. Through a mixed-methods approach, including surveys and interviews with Amazon employees, the study examines the effectiveness of Amazon’s sustainability initiatives, such as eco-friendly packaging, emission control, and renewable energy adoption. The research highlights how these strategies not only support environmental goals but also align with Amazon's broader operational and customer-centric objectives. The findings underscore that sustainability is becoming a core aspect of strategic decision-making, helping businesses like Amazon balance growth with environmental responsibility. The literature review situates Amazon’s practices within broader sustainability frameworks, illustrating how companies can leverage globalization, innovation, and customer demands to optimize environmental performance. The study identifies key areas such as recycling initiatives, the use of electric vehicles, and the transition to sustainable manufacturing as pivotal to Amazon’s efforts in reducing its environmental footprint. These findings contribute to the academic understanding of how large corporations implement sustainable strategies in practice. This thesis demonstrates that Amazon’s approach to sustainability serves as a model for integrating environmental responsibility into the core of business strategy. The study emphasizes that sustainability is not only a response to regulatory pressures but also a critical driver of competitive advantage and long-term success in the global business landscape.-
