This chapter explores the career capital (CC) development trajectories of Brazilian self-initiated expatriates (SIE) solo entrepreneurs who have migrated from emerging economies to developed nations. Drawing on intelligent career theory, the study examines the three dimensions of CC – knowing-why, knowing-how, and knowing-whom – to understand how these women develop essential competencies for entrepreneurial success abroad. Based on qualitative research involving interviews with 14 SIEs, the findings reveal that many of these women establish businesses in fields different from their original professions, necessitating the acquisition of new business and cultural competencies. Additionally, they encounter challenges such as bureaucratic barriers, a lack of recognition for their qualifications, and difficulties in building professional networks. This study contributes to the literature on global mobility and female entrepreneurship, offering valuable insights for scholars, global talent managers, and policymakers aiming to foster more inclusive environments for migrant entrepreneurs.en
