This chapter examines when climate-linked diaspora bonds and related impact vehicles can mobilize capital credibly and when they are likely to disappoint. It does not advocate a new instrument. Instead, it synthesizes evidence from diaspora-finance, remittance, sovereign-bond, blue-finance, and business-angel research to clarify the operating conditions under which diaspora capital can support climate mitigation, resilience, and adaptation. The chapter shows that homeland attachment can widen investor attention, but sustained uptake depends on governance quality, ring-fenced use of proceeds, investable project pipelines, and credible intermediation. It also explains why remittances, although large and resilient, do not automatically become productive investment without financial-sector depth. By comparing sovereign diaspora bonds, thematic climate notes, and blended vehicles, the chapter develops an evidence-based framework for choosing the right instrument for the right problem. The central conclusion is clear: climate-linked diaspora finance works best when treated as serious financial architecture rather than patriotic fundraising.en
