Tiivistelmä
Texts are ways to communicate socially. Therefore, writing or reading a text means taking a part to social communication, but it also means that a writer and a reader have their own social identities and also conceptions of each others identities. This article focuses on analysing what conceptions university students give for two different kinds of journalists after reading their texts. The other text is an article from magazine on sensational entertainment Katso! and the other is an editorial from business newspaper Kauppalehti. The university students named diversified identities to journalists. Journalist of Katso! was given most often identities like bad journalist, paparazzi or intentional communicator. Journalist of Kauppalehti was given most often identities like professional writer, business journalist or intentional communicator. Our conclusion is that given identities carry same cultural values as sensational entertaining and business broadsheets journalism commonly in Finnish culture.
