This accessibility statement applies to the Osuva Repository of the University of Vaasa. This statement was written on 1 September 2020. Its English translation was published on 9 November 2020. The statement was last updated on 8 March 2023.
The digital publication archive Osuva is Vaasa University’s publication archive that was founded in 2018. The archive has material retrospectively from the 1980s.
University of Vaasa is responsible for the accessibility of the publications stored in the repository and has also conducted the accessibility assessment of the publications.
The National Library of Finland is responsible for and has evaluated the accessibility of the user interface.
The repository also contains content that is not within the scope of the applicable legislation.
This website is compliant with critical accessibility requirements. The website is not yet fully compliant with all the requirements.
In Osuva there are files that have been published in old databases before 23 September 2018.
The shortcomings with the accessibility in files published after 23 September 2018 are specified below.
In University of Vaasa new writing guidelines were established in 2019 for Bachelor’s and Master’s theses and Licentiates. Using the University’s template makes a file accessible. The old writing guidelines do not take accessibility into consideration, thus files might have shortcomings.
Tables in the abstract pages are missing programmatic column headings and their reading order is incorrect.
Printed publications that are scanned and processed with an optical character reader (OCR) are archived in the collection of dissertations and Vaasa University Publications. Problems with accessibility in these files are stated in the abstract page of that particular publication.
The following deficiencies have been found in assessing the accessibility of the User Interface:
Some of the images lack text alternatives. Some fields on the input form are missing labels (label elements). The input form is visible only to signed-in users.
