Tiivistelmä
There is many different manufacturing- and production systems these days. The reason for it comes from a different need of them. There are different needs and demands for the production environment in different types of production. A common characteristic for all of the production systems is that today’s customer demands everything in shorter and shorter time of the products. That is why we have to take into consideration to improve our manufacturing system. Nowadays timing is everything. Customer is number one.
In this case the improvement of on-time delivery is analyzed in different perspectives and solutions for it is suggested from many different viewpoints e.g. Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM, by Rajan Suri, 1998), performance measurement system, supply chain management and combination of them in order to respond to the research problem of this case study.
The main achievement of this case study is a new developed performance measurement system for customer production teams. It is extremely important to measure processes in order to improve performance. That way there are some facts to prove the improvement and it’s easier to keep records of it.
